Feedback from CPCAB External Verifier: Ruth Collins:
Tower House Counselling was visited by the external verifier (EV) from CPCAB who award the diploma qualification on 11th November 2008. He report made some useful recommendation to alter the second year exam timing and challenged the use of feedback given in some portfolios this first term. She identified that the course was extremely well organised and had been well planned. She praised the level of information for students contained is comprehensive and the scheme of work is also very good. She said in her feedback that this was an excellent beginning and that it was a pleasure to visit this centre.
Feedback from Interval Verifier: Hugh Pollock.
At the end of the first term an Internal Verifier also visited the course to hear the views of the learners on their experience to date. His report feedback that the learners had felt the course had promoted wide eyed excitement and that they had a hunger for knowledge. A strong positive attitude to their learning experience was recorded. They reported to him that the tutors fostered their enthusiasm, gave a sense of purpose and enable a fun environment to learn in.
Feedback from the Diploma student views after the first term:
The learners also completed a simple pictorial evaluation tool around what you would change and what you would keep the same. They would be happy to change the way the personal development group is run, start and finish times, have more tutorial time, have more input to reduce criteria phobia, start later in September as it was too close to summer break, the temperature in the room, double sided photocopying. The learners want to keep the information given on USB stick, the pace of the sessions, the wonderful venue, the warmth of feeling within the group, interactive activities, the safety they feel, the level of challenge that goes on, the small groups for more intimate learning and the chocolate supply in the kitchen draw!
Feedback from Colleagues who have attended study days:
Feedback has been collected using an evaluation tool after following every study day. Their comments rate the sessions very positively with 70% marking them as excellent. They consider they are getting value for money and rate the venue very highly. Generally the administration is found to be very good. Here is an example of some of the written comments: "I felt so welcomed on the study day", "The tutor really knew their stuff" ,"I feel really able to go out there and tackle this issue now", "This is a wonderful building to be taught in", "it is great to have some where local where we can meet like minded colleagues and learn together".
